Cornelia Octavia Hodges Jan 1842 - 3 Aug 1908 MRS. CORNELIA HODGES. After an illness of only a week Mrs. Cornelia Hodges passed quietly away at her home near Copeland, Va., August 3, 1908, aged 67. She was a good Christian woman of very rare qualities, being always ready to lend a helping hand when an opportunity presented itself, and was never known to muror complain, even through her last sickness. She was patient and perfectly resigned to the will of Him who knoweth best. She leaves to mourn their loss one sister Mrs. Maggie Richardson; five brothers, Messrs, C. C., W. A., E. A., J. W. and F. C. King; three sons, four daughters and a host of friends, The funeral was conducted from the residence of the deceased by Rev. H. H. Butler, assisted by N. G. Newman, after which the remains were laid to rest in the family burying ground, beneath a profusion of floral designs, which were numerous and bautiful.
