He was a member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church and its Men's Bible Class, the Woodmen of the World, Carrsville Ruritan Club and the Holland Hunt Club. He also is survived by his wife, Minnie Dillon Sexton Hedgebeth; three daughters, Odell H. Holland of Norfolk, Eloise H. Vick of Leesburg, Fla., and Doris Jean Gomer of Suffolk; two stepdaughters, Barbara S. Hasty of Carrsville and Linda S. Pulley of Smithfield; 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. A funeral will be conducted at 4 p.m. Saturday [8 Sep 1984] at Beaver Dam Baptist Church, Carrsville, by the Rev. Richard Peerey and the Rev. Ed Thornton.
