Lewis H. Hatfield Sr.

Lewis Herbert Hatfield Sr., 71, of 734 Merrimac Ave., husband of Mrs. Sallie B. Hatfield and son of Carr and Mrs. Margaret Hatfield, died in a Norfolk hospital Saturday 25 August 1962 at 10:45 a.m. Hatfield, a native of Southampton County, lived in Norfolk 40 years. 

Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. William E. Carter and Mrs. Bobby Gene Wilbanks, and two sons, James Robert Hatfield and Lewis H. Hatfield Jr., all of Norfolk; four sisters, Mrs. Annie M. Davis, Mrs. Ethel Berry, Mrs. Hazel Johnson of Norfolk, and Mrs. Ruth Shiflett of Hagerstown, Md.; a brother, Mills C. Hatfield of Suffolk; grandchildren and six great grandchildren. 

A funeral service will be conducted in Hollomon Funeral Home Tuesday 28 August 1962 at 1 p.m. Burial will be in Black Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, at 3:30 p.m.

The family will be at the son's residence, 3650 East Sewells Point Road.
