Born on 26 October 1927, in Monroe County, he was a son of the late Arthur Metro and Beatrice Belle Parham Harrison. He was a graduate of Hatley High School and Itawamba Junior College. Mr. Harrison honorably served his country in the US Army after World War II. Retiring in 1991, he was a Railroad Conductor with Frisco and Burlington Northern Railroads. Mr. Harrison was a member of the Church of Christ. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his granddaughter; fishing and telling tales with his friends; working on the railroad; going to church; and listening to Country music. Mr. Harrison was a member of the American Legion. His hobbies were reading and watching Westerns and watching the Memphis Tigers and Memphis Grizzlies play ball. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Marcelle Steele Harrison; sons, Donald Wayne Harrison (Rosemary) and Mark Harrison; granddaughter, Molly Anne Harrison, all of Olive Branch; sisters, Mary Ellen Root, Milwaukee, WI, and Gay Torrey, Sarasota, FL; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Catherine Gregory Hendrix and Clytee and Margaret Harrison; and brothers, Loy, James Harold, and Lucian Harrison. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Noon, Friday, 26 August at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home with Dr. Richard Holt officiating. Burial will be in New Hope Cemetery at a later date. Honorary pallbearers will be Don Kent, Jimmy Galloway, Pete Patterson, Jerry Edwards, Charles Sisson, Joe Burks, and Dale Howell.
