Arthur Harris Obituary Arthur Burris Harris, Jr. January 9, 1939 - October 16, 2022 Rocky Mount, NC ‚Al Arthur Burris Harris, Jr., 83, passed away on October 16, 2022. Born in Petersburg and raised in Branchville, he was a son of the late Arthur Burris Harris and Evelyn Vick Harris. He was also predeceased by his wife, Elaine Edwards Harris; a son, Troy Harris; and a brother, Frank Harris. Arthur was a 1956 graduate of Southampton High School, attended Chowan College, and served in the Air Force during the Vietnam Era. He was a retired Transportation Controller for Union Camp Corporation. He was a long-time Fire Chief for Branchville Volunteer Fire Department and a former President and Treasurer of the Southampton County Fire and Rescue Association. Arthur was also a long-time Mayor of Branchville. Left to cherish his memory is a daughter, Laura Ehrenzeller (Bret) of Belcamp, MD; a son, Arthur B. "Art" Harris, III (Susan) of Knightdale, NC; a daughter in law, Gloria Harris of Roanoke, VA; a sister, Suzanne Williams of Winston Salem, NC; nine grandchildren, Eric (Chelsea) Ehrenzeller, Christian (Maria) Ehrenzeller, Nicholas (Lacey) Ehrenzeller, Blayne (Jayde) Ehrenzeller, and Harrison Ehrenzeller, Katelyn Richardson (Alex), Reid Harris, and Kelsey and Noah Harris; and five great grandchildren. A Memorial Service with Military Honors will be held at 2PM Sunday, October 30, 2022, at Wright Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial donations be made to Branchville Volunteer Fire Department.
