BENJAMIN F. HANCOCK FRANKLIN, Va. - Benjamin Franklin Hancock, retired farmer of Sedley community died early Monday morning at Raiford Memorial Hospital. Mr. Hancock a native of Mississippi, moving to Southampton County many years a ago, and was the husband of Lula Whitehead of Sedley. He was the son of the late Irving Thomas and Emma Davis Hancock of this county and a member of Johnson'sGrove Christian Church. Besides wife, he is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Mrs. J. R. Vaughan of Lasker, N. C., L. C. Cooke of Portsmouth, Mrs. L. L. Mountcastle of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Mrs. J. L. Spivey of Whittier, Calif.; five sons, H. P. Hancock, B. F. Hancock, Jr., E. T. Hancock and W. B. Hancock, all of Sedley and R. W. Hancock of Courtland: 17 grandchildren. Funeral services held at the Holland Funeral Home here Tuesday at 2:30 p. m. with the Rev. Harvey L. Carner officiating. Burial will be in Sedley cemetery.
