JONES, HELEN H. 55, of Maryville, passed away on Friday, March 15, 2002, at Lake Taylor Hospital in Virginia. She is preceded in death by her father, David Halliday and brother Billy Halliday. She is survived by her husband, Dan Jones; son and daughter-in-law, David and Kristi Jones of Pennsylvania; daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie and Stan Newsom, and Angela and Chuck Farr, both of Maryville; mother, Margaret Halliday Tombe of Canada; sister and brother-in-law, JoAnne and Ian Dick of Canada; sister, Claire Halliday of Scotland; grandchildren, Gregory, Kara, Chloe, David, Mollie, Maddie, Derek and Tyler, also several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mrs. Jones will be at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 20, 2002, at Smith Mortuary with the Rev. Eddie Chasten officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday at the Morganton Cemetery. The family request, that expression of sympathy take the form of gifts to the American Diabetes or American Cancer Society.
