Funeral services for George Watson Gwaltney, who died at a Norfolk hospital Saturday morning at the age of 69 years, were conducted at Mill Swamp Baptist church, Isle of Wight county, yesterday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock. Burial was made in the churchyard. Mr. Gwaltney is survived by two daughters and four sons, Mrs. Viola Davis Norfleet, of Newport News, Mrs. Mattie Vaughan, of Suffolk; Fred W. Gwaltney, of Richmond, Perry M. Gwaltney, of Petersburg, George T. Gwaltney, of Norfolk, and James Stanley Gwaltney, of Suffolk. Also three brothers, James E. L. Gwaltney, of Windsor, William D. Gwaltney, of Smithfield, and Joe J. Gwaltney, of Newport News; and nine grandchildren. Mr. Gwaltney had made his home at Port Norfolk and was a member of the Broad Street Baptist church.
