DORIS MAE GRIFFIN Doris Mae Griffin, 75, of Allentown Road, Telford, and formerly of Windsor, VA, died Thursday [16 Jul 1992] at the home of her daughter, Glenda Kay Early, with whom she was residing. She had been in failing health for more than one year. Born in Aden, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Jesse James and Cora Lee (Barrow) Sumrell. A resident of Windsor, VA, for most of her life, she moved to her Telford address in 1989. She was the wife of the late Harry Thorburn Griffin, who died in 1978. Mrs. Griffin was a member of the Windsor Congregational Christian Church, where she was active in the church women's missionary society. She is survived by a daughter, Glenda Kay, wife of Rev. Richard K. Early, with whom she had resided, and two sons: Gary T. of Atlanta, GA, and R. Kirk of Hayward, CA: eight grandchildren; two brothers, Lee T. Sumrell of Portsmouth, VA, and James Sumrell of Brookneal, VA. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Guy. Funeral services were today in Windsor.
