Survived by a daughter, Glenda Sumrell Early of Telford, Pa.; two sons, Gary T. Griffin of Atlanta and R. Kurk Griffin of Hayward, Calif.; two brothers, Lee T. Sumrell of Portsmouth and James Sumrell of Brookneal; and eight grandchildren.
