David W. Griffin 

SMITHFIELD - David Wayne Griffin, 41, went home to Jesus on Monday, July 13, 1998. Born in Columbia, S.C., he was a lifelong resident of Smithfield and the Peninsula. He was a member of Whitehead's Grove Baptist Church, as well as a vacation Bible school teacher. His joy in life was showing everyone that met him the love our Savior, Jesus Christ, had blessed him with.

He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife, Karen A. Griffin; two daughters, Lisa M. McDavid of Newport News, Christina A. Davis of Atlanta, Ga.; one son, Jason C. Griffin of Hampton; his mother and stepfather, Dorothy L. and Charles Jarrett of Hampton; his father, Maynard L. Griffin of Corpus Christi, Texas; his sister, Virginia Major of South Boston and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews who all loved him very much. We will miss him very much. 

Funeral services will be conducted Friday [July 17, 1998] at 2 p.m. at Whitehead's Grove Baptist Church by the Rev. Donald Seymour, the Rev. Russell Leonard and Buck Griffin Jr. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the home of his aunt, Mrs. Eunice Darnell, 17301 Riddick Road, Smithfield. R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
