Douglas Gray Obituary Douglas Lee Gray April 20, 1960 - July 22, 2023 Zuni - Douglas "Doug" Lee Gray, 63, AKA "Grayboy", passed away July 22, 2023 at his home. Doug was a native of Southampton County and was a son of the late Eppa James Gray, Sr. and Virginia Parker Gray. He was a 1978 graduate of Franklin High School and worked in the Maintenance Department at International Paper Company for 32 years. He was presently employed as a Transportation Operator for the Virginia Department of Transportation. He was a long time Taxidermist in the area, and was a member of Black Creek Hunt Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and going to the Eastern Shore for many years. Doug was a member of Burdette Baptist Church. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 42 years, Gayle Lowe Gray, two daughters, Kimberly G. Bratton (Brian) of Belle Haven and Kelly G. Joyner (Brian) of Sedley, two sisters, Dale G. Spivey (Mike) of Franklin and Lea Ann G. Baker (Neil) of Ivor, one brother, Eppa James "Jimmy" Gray, Jr. (Kathy) of Franklin, two nieces, Rebecca Geary and Chelsea Spivey, three nephews, Bobby Lowe, Graysen Baker and Chavis Spivey, his father -in-law, Sedric Lowe and a brother- in- law Bob Lowe (Trisia). A Graveside Funeral will be held at 11 AM Tuesday July 25, 2023 at Black Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Hoyle Green officiating. Memorial donations may be made to any favorite charity.
