Marjorie Graham Obituary Marjorie Porteous Graham March 3, 1932 - June 19, 2023 Franklin - Marjorie Graham, 91, passed at home under the care of Gentiva Hospice on June 19, 2023. Mrs. Graham was born Marjorie Porteous on March 3, 1932 in Carleton Place, Ontario, Canada. She attended business school after graduation high school. One of the amazing talents of that generation was Marjorie learned the art of taking shorthand. She married Allan P. Graham on December 3, 1949, in a civil ceremony in Carleton Place, Ontario. She and her husband immigrated to the United States in the 1950’s to make it their permanent home. Mrs. Graham began her banking career at Marine Midland Bank in Potsdam, NY in the 1960’s. After transferring to Massena, NY in 1967, she enjoyed a 35 year employment with Marine Midland until it evolved into HSBC Bank. Mrs. Graham cherished the very large family gatherings at holidays her entire life. She absolutely enjoyed traveling on her many cruises, trips to the Caribbean islands, and wintering in Florida for many years. She enjoyed dancing, bowling, knitting, gardening, and felt tremendous reward becoming a hospice volunteer upon her retirement. Mrs. Graham enjoyed her friendships with every single person she ever met. She was a member of the Elks Lodge in Massena, NY for 50 years. Left to cherish her memory is her devoted daughter, Lee Ann Graham of Franklin, VA; two sons, Dennis A. Graham of Albany, NY, and Douglas K. Graham (Colleen) of Hampton, VA; a granddaughter, Melanie Graham of Hampton, VA; two sisters, Carolann Reid of Almonte, Ontario, Canada, and Helen Cryderman of Fairview, Alberta, Canada; and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband of 48 years, Allan P. Graham; two beloved grandchildren, Monica Hughes and Nicholas LeBire; a brother, Allen Porteous; a son-in-law, Ronald Hughes; and her special companion of 18 years, Richard Aldridge.
