PALESTINE - Funeral services for Sam A. Goodson, 83, of the Broyles Chapel Community near here are set for 11 a.m. Wednesday 31 Jan 1973 in Hassell-Foster Chapel in Palestine with the Rev. Otis Felton officiating. Burial will be in Broyles Chapel Cemetery.  

Mr. Goodson died Monday morning 29 Jan 1973 in a Palestine nursing home. He was a native and lifelong resident of Anderson County and a retired farmer. Mr. Goodson was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.  

Survivors include six sons, Jerry Goodson of Reseda, Calif., Albert Thurman Goodson of Morristown, Pa., Tommy Goodson of Imperial Beach, Calif., Bob Goodson of Junction City, Calif., Joe Goodson of Carsville, Va., and Earl Goodson of Dumas; two daughters, Mrs. Louise Hinkleman of Cambria, Calif., and Mrs. Margie Maxwell of Torrance, Calif.; two brothers, Palestine [possibly referring to a brother named Palestine] and R.M. Goodson of Waco; four sisters, Mrs. Annie Barnett and Mrs. Callie Knight, both of Houston, Mrs. Ruby Goad of Palestine and Mrs. Mary Brown of Dallas; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
