She was predeceased by an infant daughter Emily Catherine Golembiewski, brothers Harvey Carlisle and Robert Dodds; sister Oweda Warren and Geraldine Snowden. Elizabeth is a veteran of the U. S. Navy and served during WWII as a Storekeeper Second Class. She was a member of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church, Norfolk, VA, Society of the Descendants of Washington's Army at Valley Forge, Daughters of the American Revolution, Tidewater Silver Salts, the American Legion Women's Post 118 and she volunteered at Lake Taylor Hospital for over 20 years. She is survived by her sister Mary Belle West and husband William "Bud" West; son Bruce Edmund Golembiewski and wife Mary C. "Lyn" Griffin; daughters Cheryl Ann Gearhart and husband Ricky E. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, September 25, 2014 at 11 AM at the Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery in Suffolk, VA with Rev. Scott Beck officiating.
