Nellie Gray Garrett Nellie Gray Garrett, 80, of Route 12, Orange, died Thursday, April 12 [1990], at the University of Virginia Hospital in Charlottesville. She was born Oct. 31, 1909, in Bristol. She was the daughter of the late William F. and Catherine Cole Radcliffe.

Her husband was the late James A. Garrett. She was a member of Mount Horeb United Methodist Church. She is survived by two daughters, Nancy Gray Crumpler of Richmond and Mary A. Jenkins of Gordonsville; four sons, James A. Garrett and Patrick O. Garrett of Richmond, and Robert L. Garrett and Sherman R. Garrett of Orange; a sister, Alise Hellems of Unionville; 18 grandchildren; and 19 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, William E. Garrett, and by the following grandchildren: William E. Garrett Jr., Ronald W. Garrett, Brenda D. Stankawicz and Vicky Sue Crumpler. 

The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday [April 14, 1990] at the Preddy Funeral Chapel in Orange. Funeral services will be held Sunday, April 15 [1990], at 2 p.m. at the Preddy Funeral Chapel in Orange. Interment will be at Graham Cemetery and conducted by the Rev. Phil Gates.
