Gardner were held Wednesday afternoon at 4 o'clock at the residence on North Main Street, by the Rev. H. J. Goodwin. A quartet composed of Mrs. W. A. Hart, Mrs. R. H. Jacobs, J. R. Vann and W. W. Ballard, accompanied by Alton Howell, sang "Abide With Me," and "Nearer My God to Thee." There were many handsome floral designs. Active pallbearers were Dr. O. R. Yates, W. B. Harrell, Tom Pierce, O. M. Nance, R. E. Zimmer, R. C. Saunders, L. H. Rawls and J. Cohen. Honorary pallbearers were friends of the family. Burial was in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
