James Foster Obituary James Edward Foster, Jr. July 8, 1961 - June 14, 2023 Franklin - James "Jimmy" Edward Foster, Jr., 61, passed away June 14, 2023 surrounded by his loving family after a long battle with cancer. A native of Southampton County, he was a son of the late James Edward Foster, Sr. and Charlotte Vaughan Foster. Jimmy was employed at Newport News Shipbuilding. He was previously employed by Union Camp Corporation/International Paper for 32 years. He loved spending time at the Outer Banks with his wife and beach friends. He and Randi loved being by the ocean whether it be in a beach chair at Oregon Inlet or cruising in the Caribbean. Jimmy also loved spending time with his grandchildren who were his pride and joy. He was an avid Redskins fan (Washington Commanders). He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Randi Ricks Foster, two children, Andy Foster (Jen) and Alexis Harper (Sam), one sister Vanessa Jones (Jimmy), one brother Todd Foster (Nanette), two sisters-in-law, Renee Felts (Michael) and Rhee Beard (Loren), three grandchildren, Rylin Foster, Tanner Foster and Charlotte Harper, numerous nieces and nephews and step mom Ann Foster. A Celebration of Life will be conducted at 11:00 AM Saturday, June 17, 2023 in Wright Funeral Home with Lindy Drake, a lifelong friend, officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 PM Friday at the funeral home and suggest that memorial donations to be made to the American Cancer Association.
