C. Foster Obituary Allan Foster, 69, passed away peacefully on June 16, 2021. He was born in Portsmouth and became a lifelong resident of Norfolk and Chesapeake. He was a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School (1970) and The University of Virginia (1975). Allan enjoyed a successful career in chemical sales before retiring from his position as Sales Manager at Olin Corporation. Allan was predeceased by his parents Charles A. Foster, Jr., and Florence J. Foster. He is survived by his son Ryan J. Foster; Ryan's mother Sandra Brown; his brothers Steve, Richard (Pam), and David (Elizabeth); nieces Liz, Sallie, and Kristin; and nephews Matt, Dan, Jackson, and Austin. Allan was a lifelong Episcopalian, most recently as a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Portsmouth where he served on the vestry. At other times he was also a member at St. Andrew's, and Christ and St. Luke's, both in Norfolk. Allan found great enjoyment in serving others in both his church and in the greater community. Many have been touched by his gifts of friendship and generosity. The family would like to give special thanks to the doctors, nurses, and staff at the Neuro ICU of Sentara Norfolk General Hospital for their great care and compassion.
