David Felts Obituary David Wayne Felts December 1, 1943 - August 27, 2023 Ivor - David Wayne Felts, 79, passed away August 27, 2023 in his home with his family by his side. Born in Southampton County, he was the son of the late Leslie "Buddy" and Edith B. Felts. Wayne took pride in being a hard and dedicated worker. He started working in High School, fueling and driving the school busses. He then worked at Smithfield packing and later Union Camp where he worked for 32 years. He also worked at A&P Grocery Store and Food Lion for 35 years collectively. Later in life, he would continue to work hard as he battled complications with his heart. Nonetheless, he never let his physical restraints enable him from doing the things that mattered most. He loved keeping a meticulous yard, chatting with his old co-workers; making beautiful crafts with wood-working and watching his grandchildren grow. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 56 years, Patricia "Patty" Worrell Felts; and their two children, Michael Felts (Renee) and Leslie Adams (Dean); one sister, Patsy Barlow (Carl); and four grandchildren, Taylor Middleton (Cole), Hillary Brock (Jason), Haley Adams and Bryleigh Adams; and five great-grandchildren, Drake, Kori Lynn, Audrey Paige, Josie, and Adalynn Grace. The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM Tuesday, August 29th in Wright Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will be conducted at 2:00 PM Wednesday, August 30, 2023 in Tucker Swamp Baptist Church and graveside to follow at Ivor Cemetery.
