Thomas Edward Felton, 78, died in a local hospital tonight [25 Oct 1944] at 8:15 oclock after brief illness. 

He was the son of the late Jethro and Mary Clark Felton, of Gates County, and had lived in Suffolk for 45 years. He was a member of Liberty Spring Christian Church. 

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Cornelia Carter Felton; sons, J. S. Felton, of Portsmouth; T. Rothree Felton, of Suffolk, and James H. Felton, USA; two daughters, Mrs. Martha F. Johnson, of Norfolk, and Mrs. Eddie F. Hancock, of Suffolk; 15 grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. 

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday [26 Oct 1944] at 3:30 p.m. at the R. W. Baker and Company Funeral Home. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
