William Everett Obituary William T. Everett Chesapeake - William T. "Tommy" Everett, 76, devoted husband and loving family man, passed away on August 5, 2013. Born to the late William T. and Grace Carter Everett, Tommy graduated from Suffolk High School, and retired as both a Quality Assurance Supervisor for SUPSHIP and a Platoon Sergeant for the Virginia National Guard. He is survived by his better half of 54 years, Alice Javier Everett, four children: Bruce E. and Susan Sager Everett, Terry Simmons, Alice Marie Everett and Scott Pett, and Karen and Bubba Creecy, five grandchildren: Zachary and his wife Kathryn, Nicole, and Jacob Simmons, William Everett, and Noah Everett, one great-granddaughter: Aaralyn Simmons, and five siblings: James and Odell Everett, Marie and Louie Henry, Mary Elizabeth and Allen Strothers, Brenda Babb, and half-brother Winifred Cutler. A longtime member of the Church of St. Th r se, he and Alice spent many hours volunteering at the Oasis Food Bank. A founding member of the Western Branch Athletic Club, Tommy was active in coaching youth baseball and football. However, Tommy will be best remembered for the pastimes he was most passionate about. Whether it was hitting the links for eighteen or nineteen holes with Ike and his closest friends, or attending the countless baseball, softball, basketball, wrestling, and gymnastics tournaments of his children and grandchildren, Tommy had an infectious happiness, a happiness that will undoubtedly live on in the memories of his friends and family. The viewing is scheduled for Friday, August 9, 2013 at Baker-Foster Funeral Home, 5685 Lee Farm Lane, Suffolk between 7 and 8 PM. There will be an additional viewing Saturday, August 10, 2013 at the Church of St. Th r se, 4137 Portsmouth Boulevard, between 10 and 11 AM, with the Mass immediately following.
