Carlton Eure Obituary Carlton "Blue" Eure January 4, 1933 - March 23, 2023 Franklin - Carlton "Blue" Eure, 90, passed away March 23, 2023 in East Pavilion. Born in Eure, NC, he was a son of the late Matthew Jackson Eure and Lucy Crawford Eure. He was also predeceased by his brother, Wallace "Jack" Eure and his wife Ann, and a brother-in-law, Rev. Cecil Smith. Carlton was a 1952 graduate of Gatesville High School and served in the US Army from 1953-1955. He was a retired maintenance foreman for S. W. Rawls, Inc. with 27 years of service and was a member of Franklin Congregational Christian Church serving as an usher for several years and on the property committee. Carlton loved planting a garden and working in his yard. He especially loved helping neighbors and friends. Fishing was his favorite hobby and he enjoyed spending time fishing with family and his fishing buddies. Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Ann Sawyer Eure; a daughter, Janet Eure Ambrose (Paul); a son, Steve C. Eure (Lori); a sister, Lois Eure Smith; four grandchildren, Haley Ambrose Boahn (David), Paul C. Ambrose (Hannah), John Ambrose, and Chase Eure; great grandchildren, Riley and Avery Boahn; several nieces and nephews; extended "children", Agrippa, Joan, Richard, Billy and Donnie; and many special family and friends. A Memorial Service will be held at 3PM Sunday, March 26, 2023 in Franklin Congregational Christian Church with Rev. James H. Hyatt, Jr. officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church and suggests that memorial donations be made to Franklin Congregational Christian Church, 412 N.
