Jean Edwards Obituary Jean Talmage Edwards October 18, 1934 - February 2, 2020 Sedley - Jean Talmage Edwards, 85, went to be with her Heavenly Father on February 2, 2020. A life-long resident of Southampton County, she was the daughter of the late John Talmage and Orice Hines Edwards. She was married to the late James Cecil Edwards for 52 years. Jean graduated from Longwood College in 1956 and taught second grade in the City of Franklin. She was office manager for the family farm business and ran the peanut program for the Planters Peanut Buying Station in Ivor. Jean was a member of Black Creek Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday School and Bible School Teacher, GA leader, and a member of the WMU organization. She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved her family and devoted her life to caring for them. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Lisa E. Danielson and Deborah E. Johnson and husband, Michael; grandchildren, Adam Danielson, Benjamin Johnson, and Megan J. Walton and husband William; great-granddaughter, Lucy Elizabeth Walton; sisters, Annie L. Edwards, Linda E. Bowery, and Mary Lois Davis; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be conducted at 2:00 PM Wednesday, February 5, 2020 in Wright Funeral Home with the Rev. Matt Kidd officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the funeral home and suggests that memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
