HIGHLAND - Catherine L. Duncan, 41, a lifelong resident of the Hudson Valley, died on Thursday, 5 January 2006, at Vassar Brothers Medical Center after a struggle with a long-time illness. She died peacefully with her parents and her family by her side.  

Born on 23 November 1964 in Kingston, NY, she was the cherished daughter of Richard and Nan Engstrom. Her parents survive at their home in Hopewell Junction.  

In addition to her parents, Cathy is survived by her two children, Scott Duncan and Tracey L. Duncan of Highland; a brother, Richard Engstrom Jr., and wife, Jill, and their two children, Gabrielle and Victoria, also of Highland; a sister, Karen Ferguson, and husband, Kevin, with their two children, Katie and Kellie, of Capron, VA; a host of cousins, aunts, uncles, friends, and an adorable Scottish Terrier named Chewy.  

She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.  

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, 10 January 2006, from 4 PM to 8 PM at the Michael Torsone Memorial Funeral Home Inc., 38 Main Street, Highland.  

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, 11 January 2006, at 9:30 AM at St. Augustine Roman Catholic Church in Highland.  

Burial will follow at Union Cemetery of Lloyd.
