Duck had retired from a job at Union Camp Corp. He was an active member of the Franklin Fire and Rescue Squad. He had served in the Army during World War II. He was a member of Franklin Baptist Church, American Legion Post 73 and Woodmen of the World 18. Survivors include his wife, Mary Frances Pippins Duck, a daughter, Shirley D. Warren, and a son, G. Andy Duck, all of Franklin; a sister, Mary Elizabeth Moore of Windsor; three brothers, G.C. Duck Sr. and William Duck, both of Franklin, and Irvin Duck of Suffolk; and three grandchildren. The funeral will be conducted at 4 p.m. Wednesday in Wright Funeral Home by Dr. Michael Clingenpeel. Burial will be in Poplar Spring Cemetery.
