Richard T. Decker, also known as Papou to friends and family, passed away on Thursday, October 14, 2021, following a brief illness. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Katherine. 

After serving 4 years in the U. S. Navy, Richard earned a Bachelors of Science from Old Dominion University. He worked as comptroller for several local car dealerships over the years, retiring from Williams Honda in Hampton, VA. After retirement he devoted his time to Katherine and to being a major part of his grandsons' lives. 

Richard is survived by his son, Robert; grandsons, Kyle and Kody; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

A graveside service will be held at Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery, 5310 Milners Rd. Suffolk, VA 23434 on Thursday, October 28, 2021 at 10am with military honors. A visitation will be held before the service from 8 AM to 9 AM at Baker-Foster Funeral Home, 5685 Lee Farm Ln. Suffolk, VA 23435. Condolences may be registered at RWBakerFH.com.
