Emmett R. Davis Dies At Courtland FRANKLIN, July 9-Emmett Ralph Davis, 51, farmer of the Courtland community, died Sunday at his home. He was the son of the late Leondias W. and Joseph Newton Davis, of Southampton Courtland County, a member of Methodist Church where he served for many years, and president of the Davis Hunting Club, of Southampton County. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Flora Vick Davis and one son, Russell Giles Davis, of Courtland; three brothers, J. Ben Davis, Frank L. Davis, of Courtland, and Paul B. Davis, of Sebrell; two sisters, Mrs. Ida Williams and Mrs. Annie D. Whitfield, Courtland and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at the home at 4:30 P. M. Monday 10 Jul, 1944, conducted by the Rev. Percy D. White. Interment will be in Courtland Cemetery.
