Dot was born and raised in Knott's Island, NC, on May 10, 1930 to Gilmer Clyde and Myra Jones Williams. Her grandparents were Walter J. and Dallie Newman Jones, also of Knott's Island. Preceding her in death are siblings, Stanford H. Williams, of Virginia Beach, Gloria W. Barkley, of Raleigh, NC, and Barbara J. Greenwood of Virginia Beach; and her husband of 34 years, Robert Hugh Davis. She is survived by her three daughters, three grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. A private service will be held later on in the spring. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the Norfolk SPCA, 916 Ballentine Blvd, Norfolk, Va 23504.
