Born in Isle of Wight County, he was a son of the late Elmer Darden and Martha Gardner Darden. He was also predeceased by six sisters, Hazel Johnson, Lucille Blanchard, Martha Ann Bradshaw, Vicki Leake, Blanche Darden, and Lois Turner; seven brothers, Sam Darden, Phillip Darden, Roy Darden, Joe Darden, Elmer Darden, Willie Darden, and Clayton "Jap" Darden; and a grandchild, Brookie. Bro was a retired heavy equipment operator for Thomas White Construction and a member of North Run Baptist Church. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 36 years, Julia Faison "Judi" Darden; three daughters, Karen Gosnell, Michelle Cleaton, and Jamie Darden (Amy); a son, Michael Turner (Tonya); a sister Nell Kauss; a brother, Clifton Darden; five grandchildren, Brittany, Alyssa, Lydia, Madison, and Bryce; and many nieces and nephews. A Funeral Service will be held at 2PM Thursday, May 4, 2023 in Wright Funeral Home, Franklin with Pastor Kerry Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Rosemont Cemetery.
