Culpepper, 67, of 9719 13th Bay St., Norfolk, died Friday at 7:30 a.m. in a Gettysburg, Pa., motel after a heart attack. He was on the way home after a visit to his daughter, Mrs. Ardayre Culpepper Councill of Warsaw, N.Y. He was owner of R. A. Culpepper & Sons, general building and repairing contractors in Portsmouth. A native of Portsmouth, he lived in the Portsmoutharea all his life. He was a son of Alexander and Mrs. Dicie Bell Culpepper and the husband of Mrs. Pauline Marie Leckliter Culpepper. He was a member of East Ocean View Presbyterian Church and Northside Civitan Club. Besides his widow and daughter, surviving are a son, Walter Culpepper Sr., and four sisters, Mrs. Rosa Martin, Mrs. Molly Williams, Mrs. Albert F. Ozment Sr. and Mrs. J. C. Davis, all of Portsmouth; and nine grandchildren. The body will be sent to Snellings Funeral Home, where a funeral _ervice will be held Monday at 11 a.m. by the Rev. T. T. Fowler of East Ocean View Presbyterian Church and the Rev. R. Allen Brown, former pastor. Burial will be in Olive Branch Cemetery.
