CHESAPEAKE - Allen William Cullen Sr., 71, of 3146 Joseph Ave., Chesapeake, died Tuesday in a local hospital after a long illness. A native of Mathews County, he had been a Chesapeake resident for the past 40 years, was a retired foreman with the Texas Oil Co. and a member of Raleigh Heights Baptist Church, Chesapeake. 

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Ola Amelia Beale Cullen; one daughter, Mrs. Joyce C. Smith, and a son, Allen William (Bill) Cullen Jr. of Chesapeake; two sisters, Mrs. Cornelia Gallagher of Portsmouth and Mrs. Lucille Moody of Saluda; and eight grandchildren. 

A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in Graham Funeral Home, South Norfolk Chapel, by the Rev. Henry V. Napier. Burial will be in Chesapeake Memorial Gardens. The family will be at the home of his son, 1225 Kay Ave., South Norfolk.
