He was born on Wednesday, September 21, 1955 in Braddock, PA to the late Vincent J Covato and Florence Ann Covato. He is also predeceased by one brother. He was the recipient of a Navy Achievement Award and proudly served his country in the US Navy from 1973-1989. He then retired from the Naval Public Works Center in 2001. Many family and friends are left to cherish his memory including; his devoted and loving wife whom he married in Ellicott City, MD on April 23, 1976, Beverly Kay Covato; four children, Christina M. Banks, Stephanie A. and Timothy Goetsch, Amanda L. and J. C. Caperton, and Frank A. Covato Jr; seven grandchildren, Tyler A, Brianna K, Ashley N, and Carolynn R Banks, Lucas W and Vincent J Goetsch, and Lia J Caperton; and a host of family and friends. A funeral service will be held on Saturday Oct. 3, at 4 P. M. at Baker-Foster Funeral Home, 5685 Lee Farm Lane, Suffolk, VA. The family will receive friends beginning at 3 P. M. A reception will follow afterwards at Churchland Baptist Church, 3031 Churchland Blvd, Chesapeake, VA. Inurnment will be held at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
