Suffolk - Doris Rowland Costen, 90, went to be with the Lord on April 9, 2014. She was predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Frank B. Costen and her parents, Lucy and Otto Rowland. She was lately of Suffolk, but lived most of her life in Norfolk, VA and was a member of Mimosa Road Bible Chapel, Portsmouth and the Gospel Hall, Chesapeake. 

Left to cherish her memory are her three children Carolyn Williams and husband Willie of Suffolk, Deborah Anderson and husband Gary of Portsmouth and Steve Costen and wife Mary of Lenior City, TN. She is also survived by eight grandchildren , Chris Williams, Greg and Erika Williams, Kim and Craig Standridge, Adam and Kelly Anderson, Jacob and Elyse Anderson, John and Kierston Anderson, Christy and Kevin Bare and Sarah Costen; twelve great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lucille Harris and Mary Jones and many nieces, nephews and a host of caring relatives. 

A funeral service will be conducted at 10:30 a. m. Saturday April 12, in Baker-Foster Funeral Home, Bennett's Creek Chapel, 5685 Lee Farm Lane, Suffolk, VA 23435 by Robert Costen. Burial will follow at 2:30 p. m. in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, Norfolk. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p. m. Friday at the funeral home. Condolences may be registered at bakerfoster.com. The family would like to give a special thanks to her caregivers, Lisa Tucker and Lee Bishop and the Heartland Hospice staff for all their care and support.
