Christopher Collins Obituary Christopher John Collins January 29, 1951 - June 21, 2024 Franklin - Christopher John "Chris" Collins, 73, passed away June 21, 2024 in East Pavilion. Born on January 29, 1951, in Newark, NJ, he was a son of the late Thomas Francis Collins and Rose Schuyler Collins. He was also predeceased by his wife of 17 years, Judi Burgess Collins. Chris was the second oldest of five. Growing up, Chris and his siblings enjoyed spending time surfing at the beach. Chris went to Rutgers University and graduated from the agriculture program. He then began working in forestry for Union Camp Corporation in Franklin where he worked for 17 years. Chris was a member of Sedley Volunteer Fire Department, the Ruritan Club, and a member of St. Jude Catholic Church where he was in the choir. Chris had many hobbies which included gardening and growing cabbage, potatoes, tomatoes, butterbeans, and broccoli. He loved all things food, has always loved animals and is kind to everyone he meets. He also enjoyed water skiing on the Chowan and coaching little league baseball. Left to cherish his memory are his twins, Mariah C. Belcher (Scott) and Michael David Collins; three sisters, Ellen Molica (Tom), Rosemary Rupp (Rod), and Kandy Collins (Eric); a brother, Thomas F. Collins, Jr. (Rosie); four grandchildren, Alex Cobb, Noah Cobb, Savannah Collins, and Elizabeth Collins; a host of nieces and nephews; and special friend and roommate at East Pavilion, Larry Neave. A Memorial Service will be held at 11AM Thursday, June 27, 2024 in St. Jude Catholic Church with Father Emmanuel Mensah officiating.
