He was a native of Newsoms and a retired barber. He was a member of Great Fork Baptist Church and the Sidney Cobb Bible Class. He was also a member of the CBN 700 Club. Survivors include a stepdaughter, Mrs. Jean Jay of Oak Harbor, Wash.; six sisters, Mrs. Annie Porter of Portsmouth, Mrs. Emma Bryant of Troutville, Mrs. Mildred Felts and Mrs. Margaret Whitley, both of Franklin, Mrs. Clara Bradshaw of Chesapeake and Mrs. Catherine Del Monte of Whaleyville; and three brothers, Willie "Bill" Cogsdale and Herbert Cogsdale, both of Virginia Beach, and Al B. Cogsdale of Lawrenceville. A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday 15 Sep, 1983 in Great Fork Baptist Church by the Rev. William C. Tatum. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Sidney F.
