Shelva Cobb Obituary Shelva Lee Cobb November 24, 1936 - April 13, 2024 Drewryville - Shelva Lee Cobb, 87, a resident of Drewryville, VA, passed away Saturday afternoon, April 13, 2024 in East Pavilion where she had been living for the past 3 years. Shelva was born on Crutchlow Corner in Southampton County on November 24, 1936. She was the daughter of the late Joseph Simeon Lee and Vida Crutchlow Lee. She is predeceased by her beloved husband of 49 years Paul A. Cobb, her daughter Paula Lee Day, and her sister Joyce Lee Andrews. She is survived by her loving sons Paul Alexander Cobb Jr, Joseph Mark Cobb, and her daughter-in-law, Katie Williams Cobb. She will be fondly remembered by her grandchildren Weldon Alexander Nichols, Alexa Lee Newell, Cullen Mark Cobb, Zachary Allen Cobb, Paul Alexander Cobb III, Noah Collins Cobb, Mary-Katherine Lee Cobb, and Tucker Paul Cobb. She also has two great-grandkids Lyla Lee Newell and Alexander "Xander" Jensen Newell. She was known as "gran" and lovingly called her grandkids "suga pig." She worked at the Department of Corrections for many years as a secretary where she retired. She enjoyed working in her beautiful yard, attending all her grandchildren's activities, supporting her husband's farming operation for 49 years, and worshiping in Capron for over 35 years. She also loved to get her hair done weekly and have lunch at Cracker Barrel with friends. The family would like to thank all her friends and family who have supported her throughout her life, especially the last few years. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer Association in memory of her beloved husband. On Tuesday, April 16 2024, a graveside service will be held at Beechwood Cemetery in Boykins, VA at 11:00 AM, with Mr. William Hart Gillette officiating.
