He was a native of St. Joseph, MO, a son of the late Brian Rainey and Pinkey Tucker Clark and was predeceased by his first wife Catherine Clark, his stepfather, Alexander Vernon Clark, a half-brother ,Roger Rainey and a half-sister, Marilyn Rainey. He was an Army veteran of WWII having served in North Africa and a graduate of Auburn University. Mr. Clark was retired Chief Mill Engineer at Union Camp (IP) for 35 years, a member of IEEE and a member of High Street United Methodist Church. He was a long time tennis enthusiast at Cypress Cove Country Club and the Franklin YMCA tennis courts. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 42 years, Frances Jean Dismukes Clark, four daughters, Catherine Gail Carter (Art) of Sutherlin, Carla Rhonda Rolan of Knoxville,TN, Caren Bonnie Greene of Manassas and Carlyn Anne Clark of Locust Grove, GA, one son, Carl Vernon Clark, Jr. (Lois) of Cumming, GA, one sister, Lois Freeman of Phoenix, AZ, eight grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren. A funeral will be held at 11 AM Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at Wright Funeral Home with the Rev. Nathan Decker officiating. The burial will follow at the new annex of Poplar Spring Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 8 PM at the funeral home and suggests memorial donations be made to a favorite charity.
