He is survived by two sons, J. F. Carter, of Whaleyville, and I. L. Carter, of Black Creek; one half brother, Michael Carter, of Holland; two half sisters, Mrs. Willie Lee and Miss Ena Carter, both of Holland; three granddaughters, Mrs. S. C. Bristow, Black Creek, and Mrs. W. C. Eure, and Mrs. Clade L. Parker, of Whaleyville, and 11 great grandchildren. He was a member of Capt. Bond's Camp U. C. V., of Gates County, N. C.
