She was the widow of the late Robert Lee Corbitt and the daughter of the late Nathan and Elizabeth Johnson Carr of Southampton County. She was one of the oldest members of the Black Creek Baptist Church. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. E. A. Drewry and Mrs. A. C. Carr, both of Zuni; Mrs. A. E. Bridger of Norfolk; six sons, Robert B. Corbitt of Orlando, Fla., the Rev. William Corbitt of Portsmouth, the Rev. Rufus H. Corbitt of Poquoson, Charles H. Corbitt of Franklin, James W. Corbitt of Newport News, and Gurley E. Corbitt of Zuni; one brother, R. B. Carr of Suffolk; 28 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Monday [2 August 1954] at 2 P.M. from the Black Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. A. W. Coates, pastor, and the Rev. R. D.
