Mrs. Mattie J. Carr Carr, 84, died Tuesday in Southampton Memorial Hospital, Franklin. She was born in Southampton County was and a member of Corinth Friends Meeting. 

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Will H. Stieh; three sons, Clifton Merrell Carr, George Ryland Carr and Herbert Baker Carr, and two sisters, Mrs. Henry Bracey and Mrs. Susie Brown, all of Ivor; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. 

A funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Thursday at Corinth Friends Meeting near Ivor by the Rev. Cafer Marley. Burial will be in Ivor Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight at Purviance Funeral Home in Wakefield. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Ivor Res- cue Squad.
