CARRSVILLE - Katherine Carr Darden, 76, an Isle of Wight County native, died Wednesday, Sept. 9. She retired in 1988 after 50 years as owner and operator of Darden's Store in Isle of Wight. Mrs. Darden was a member of Colosse Baptist Church.

Survived by a son, A.C. Darden of Carrsville; two sisters, Doris C. Blythe and Lillie C. Darden of Carrsville; a brother, Eugene Carr of Windsor; a grandchild and a great grandchild. 

Visitation from 7 to 8 tonight at Sidney F. Harrell Funeral Home. Funeral at 2 p.m. Friday at funeral home by the Rev. Ronald L. Wiley. Burial in church cemetery. Memorials to American Cancer Society, 618C J. Clyde Morris Blvd., Newport News 23601.
