Josie Clay Carr 10 AUG 1894 - 20 NOV 1953 JOSIE CLAY HARRISON Mrs. Josie Clay Harrison, 59 years, of 860 W. 34th Street, Norfolk, died in a hospital in that city on Friday night [13 November 1953], 20 November, after a short illness. The widow of William Henry Harrison, she had resided in Norfolk since 1932. She was the daughter of the late Samuel Henry and Texanna Bradshaw Carr of Isle of Wight County. Surviving are four sons, J.C., William H. and Robert Edward Harrison, all of Norfolk, and Wallace Harrison of Holland; two daughters, Mrs. R.T. Kent of New York City and Mrs. W.N. Howell of Franklin; three sisters, Mrs. J.R. Boyette of Franklin, Mrs. Cora Lee Darden of Carrsville, and Mrs. L.M. Byrd of Portsmouth; and six grandchildren. Funeral services for Mrs. Harrison were held in the chapel of W.J.M. Holland & Sons on Sunday afternoon [22 November 1953] at 3 o’clock, with Revs. Edwin C. Thornton and L.L. McGee officiating.
