FRANKLIN—John Gladstone Carr Jr., 53, died Sunday in Spartanburg, S. C. 

He was a native of Franklin and husband of Mrs. Mary Munford Carr. 

He was a paper products manager with Harley Corp., a Navy veteran World War II and a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church. 

Besides his widow surviving are two sons, Jeffrey Moses Carr and Alvin Christopher Carr of Moore, S. C.; two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Marie Gray and Mrs. Doris Beale of Franklin; two brothers, Roy M. Carr of Franklin and Bobby Ray Carr of Boykins. A funeral service will be conducted Wednesday at 3 p.m. in Wright Funeral Home by the Rev. Ira D. Hudgins. Burial will be in Poplar Spring Cemetery. 

The family will he at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Beale, 512 Walnut Street. Mrs. Helen H. Knight
