Thomas S. Carpenter  

PENDLETON - Thomas Sidney Carpenter, 66, of Pendleton, died yesterday afternoon (28 April 1960) while at work at Walton and Wood Lumber Company. He was born 11 January 1894, in Louisa County. He was a member of the Louisa Masonic Lodge and the Mineral Methodist Church.  

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Annie Marks Carpenter; four sons, Paul W. Carpenter, Thomas S. Carpenter Jr., Fred S. Carpenter, and Russell Carpenter; four daughters, Mrs. Grace Lacy, Mrs. Julia Ann Ragland, Mrs. Frances Towsey, and Mrs. Mildred Mason; a brother, John H. K. Carpenter of Richmond; a sister, Mrs. Lydia Marks of California; and 18 grandchildren.  

A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. tomorrow (30 April 1960) at Woodward Funeral Home in Louisa. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery.
