Samuel Neverson Bryant, 88, formerly of Zuni, died Sept. 8, 1992, in a Petersburg hospital.
Mr. Bryant was born in Isle of Wight County. He was a retired farmer and base police officer at the Norfolk Naval Base. He was a member of Tucker Swamp Baptist Church, Zuni; General William Mahone Camp 1369, Sons of the Confederate Veterans; and the Wakefield and Zuni hunt clubs.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Hill Fitzgerald Bryant; a son, Samuel F. Bryant of Dinwiddie, Va.; and two grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in Purviance Funeral Home, Wakefield. Friends may join the family from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today in the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to the church's memorial fund, Zuni, Va. 23898.
