A native of Sedley, he was a son of the late Henry Bruce Bryant, Sr. and Lizzie Mae Spence Bryant. Roy was an Air Force veteran and a retired teacher with the Virginia Department of Corrections. Survivors include one sister, Ann Bryant Gillette and her husband, Owen; two brothers, H. B. Bryant, Jr. and his wife, Anne, and David L. Bryant and his wife, Mary Lou, and nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 2 PM Saturday, November 15, 2014 at Wright Funeral Home, Franklin with the Rev. Jim Foreman officiating. A visitation will follow the service.
