Barbara Bryant Obituary Barbara Parham Bryant June 14, 1937 - July 20, 2022 Courtland - Barbara Parham Bryant, 85, passed away on July 20, 2022. She was born in Windsor, Virginia to Lewis Thomas and Elizabeth Lovegrove Parham. She was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings Betty, Louis, and Russell Parham and Linda Blythe; her half siblings Robert Lee and Thomas Parham and Nancy Moon and Hettie Murphy; the father of her children, Hereford (Buck) Bryant, and longtime companion Joe Jordan. Barbara grew up in Capron, Virginia and graduated from Courtland High School. She worked in a department store in Smithfield as a cashier and at Parker Drugs in Franklin. She put herself through Pan-American Business School in Richmond, Virginia. After graduation, she started working at Union Camp as a Secretary. Barbara retired from Union Camp after 41 years. She was a member of Courtland United Methodist Church. Barbara enjoyed monthly lunches with "the girls" and playing Mah Jong with her friends. She was known to always be dressed fashionably and enjoyed shopping. Barbara loved Yorkshire Terriers and was lucky to have shared part of her life with her beloved Dee-Dee and Fifi. She enjoyed watching tennis, gardening and the Hallmark Channel. She spent the last years of her life at the Village at Woods Edge in Franklin, VA and The Hidenwood Assisted Living in Newport News, VA. While there, she made many friends and enjoyed participating in art classes and playing Bingo and Bunko. She is survived by her daughters Dale Cannon (Michael Edwards) and Dana Brown (Matthew); grandchildren Olivia and Samantha Whitford, Ross, Chase and Reagan Brown; sister Judy Davis and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 2 PM, Sunday, July 24, 2022 in Wright Funeral Home in Franklin, VA with Rev. Tommy Speight officiating. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the funeral home and suggests in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Autism Society of America, 4605 Pembroke Lake Circle, Suite 202, Va.
