PETERSBURG—James Sidney Brockwell died Thursday afternoon 16 Jul 1942 at the home of his daughter, Mrs. C. S. Swineford, at Stony Creek. He was a son of James Monroe Brockwell and Mrs. Virginia Livesay Brockwell, of Prince George County. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Mary Lou Brockwell; seven daughters, Mrs. Annie B. Swineford, of Stony Creek; Mrs. Minnie B. Henneman, Mrs. Evelyn Newsome, Mrs. Ashworth Louise Bulifant, all of Petersburg; Mrs. Bernice Fentress, of Norfolk; and Mrs. Mary Daniels, of Disputanta; two sons, James M. Brockwell, of Disputanta, and Alvin S. Brockwell, of Carson; two sisters, Mrs. R. L. Hall and Mrs. H. L. Underhill, of Petersburg; three brothers, T. M. and A. L. Brockwell, of Petersburg, and Brockwell, of Carson; 13 grandchildren and one great-grandson. Funeral services: 5 p.m., Saturday 18 Jul 1942 at the grave in Blandford Cemetery.
