Willis E. Britt SMITHFIELD- Willis Everett Britt, age 70, of Smithfield, died Friday, April 12, 2002, at Riverside Regional Medical Center, Newport News. Mr. Britt was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps serving in the Korean War. He was also a former member of the Smithfield Volunteer Fire Department and a member of Central Hill Baptist Church. He worked in the meat packing industry for 35 years at VW Joyner, Smithfield Packing and Gwaltney. He is survived by his wife, Sarah Leigh Elliott Britt; a daughter, Peggy Britt Crocker and her husband, Larry; a son, William Everett Britt and his wife, Amy; two grandchildren, Jessica Leigh Crocker and Kathryn Taylor Britt; a sister, Alma Britt and her husband, Narvie; and a nephew, Frank Britt and his wife, Fredia. The family would like to express their appreciation to the doctors and staff of the Virginia Oncology Association for their help and support. A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 14, in Mill Swamp Baptist Church Cemetery, Ivor, with Dr. Donald R. Rhoton officiating.
